Montserrat is a founding partner of Aliath Bioventures SL and a partner at Alta Life Sciences SL. She is a board director at Peptomyc, Accure Therapeutics (chair) and Ona Therapeutics and a board observer at Inbrain Neuroelectronics, along with being involved in multiple start-up mentorship programmes.
She has over 10 years’ experience in biomedical research, at both Spanish institutions (CSIC) and international companies (Roche Institute of Molecular Biology), as well as over 20 years in supporting entrepreneurs in life sciences.
She was part of the founding team of Barcelona Science Park, its bioincubator and technological platforms (deputy CEO and, later, CEO). She was also founder and CEO (eight years) of Biocat, Catalonia biocluster, one of the most successful in Europe. Additionally, she has chaired the Council of European Bioregions, from inception until 2015.
She holds a PhD in biology from the University of Barcelona, a master’s degree in science communication from Pompeu Fabra University and an executive degree in general management from IESE Business School. She currently chairs the executive committee of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation (Alzheimer’s research) and the board of trustees of Pompeu Fabra University.
